Jamee Linton

Originally from South Carolina, Jamee Linton-Kelly now lives in Seattle, Washington. From an ebb and flow similar to the ocean’s tide, Linton-Kelly’s artwork is a convergence of planning and spontaneity. Her paintings represent a journey through her life and experiences, and she allows each piece to form its own path. In the creation process for her landscape and abstract works, Linton-Kelly applies layers of paint and also removes them. Like sorting through memories and reflections of the past, the removal of layers reveals paintings’ history. Linton-Kelly also uses a variety of tools to create unique marks that play a vital role in the final expression of her work. Her paintings have been exhibited widely in the U.S. and Europe, and have been recognized by New American Paintings, among other publications and media.
