Justin Armstrong

Justin Armstrong (b. 1988, Birmingham, Alabama) is currently pursuing an M.F.A. in Painting at Savannah College of Art & Design, where he also received a B.F.A. in Painting in June 2016. He has shown work at the Department of Education in Washington, DC as well as Gutstein Gallery in Savannah, GA.

Armstrong approaches visual content in terms of materiality, surface, and effect. His painting practice involves interplay between abstraction and Pop iconography, while his digital work centers around thematic transformations of appropriated images. He currently lives and works in Leeds, Alabama.
